The purpose I share my medical syllabus during my era is to help me know the topic should I revise during my free time to improve my medical knowledge and to give an idea for future medical students about the topic they would learn in medical school.

Topic of Nutrition discussed during my time in Medical School:

A. LECTURE:

1. 1st semester:

a. Basic Science in Medicine (General Knowledge):

- Bio molecules: Macro and Micro-mineral, Vitamin

b. Basics Science in Medicine (Diagnosis and Therapy/ Intervention at Cellular/ Molecular Level):

- Non-Pharmacological intervention: Dietary supplementation

2. 2nd semester:

a. Metabolism System:

- Food intake disorders: Anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge, starvation, malnutrition (Marasmus and Kwashiorkor)

- Obesity

- Basic nutrition

- Weight management

- Nutritional care in Diabetes Mellitus

b. Hematological and Immunological System:

- Nutritional approach in nutritional deficiencies anemia

3. 3rd semester:

a. Reproductive System:

- Normal pregnancy: Nutrition during pregnancy

- Nutrition during lactation (breastfeeding)

b. Growth and Development:

- Biological and physical requirement that affecting growth and development of infant and toddler: Nutritional requirement for every stages of growth, nutrition and family health education, affecting factors in determining type of food during growth and development period

4. 4th semester:

a. Dermatomusculoskeletal System:

- Function of nutrition for skin and skin manifestation in nutritional disorder

- Nutrition and bone health: Nutrition and bone, bone mass and bone density

- Medical nutritional therapy in osteopenia, osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and gout

b. Cardiovascular System:

- Nutrition in cardiovascular disease

5. 5th semester:

a. Genitourinary System:

- Nutrition in kidney disorder: Medical nutrition therapy in kidney disease, end stage renal failure (ESRF), and renal stone

b. Gastrointestinal System:

- Nutrition in digestive system cases: Nutrition for gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), liver cirrhosis, irritable bowel syndrome

c. Special Senses System:

- Nutritional eye disorder: Vitamin A deficiency

6. 7th semester:

a. Family Medicine:

- Nutritional management in geriatric

b. Elective (Viral-Oncogene):

- Medical nutrition therapy for cancer

B. TUTORIAL:

1. 1st semester:

a. Basic Science in Medicine (General Knowledge):

- Rickets Disease

2. 4th semester:

a. Respiratory System:

- Nutrition in respiratory disease

3. 6th semester:

a. Brain and Mind System:

- Medical nutritional therapy for stroke
